Walk Leader:      Doreen

No on walk:         7

Distance:            15 miles

Weather:           Dry and mild

We set off from Jumbles car park and made our way through Ouzel's Nest to arrive at the Last Drop, an outlet with artisan shops and a wedding/conference venue. Skirting round the outside of the Last Drop we continued passing Torra Manor (still Torra Barn on the OS map) before descending to the Witton Weavers track which we followed to Entwistle reservoir where  we had our coffee stop.

We  carried on through Fox Hill Plantation, looking skyward at the very tall pine trees, to take the 'rat run' path to Edge Lane and the Strawbury Duck PH. After descending to Wayoh we had a short climb through woodland to the Roman Road near Edgeworth and then the long, steady pull up to Crowthorn Farm where, shortly after, we had our lunch stop.

The afternoon saw us walking along the track, a bit wet in places, under Bull Hill before descending steeply to arrive at the old Krypton Factor assault course (now a TA centre). After Higher House farm we began the climb up to Top of Quarlton and the final 2.5 miles through Pallet Farm and Turton Bottoms to arrive back at  our cars at 3.00pm. Everyone said they had enjoyed the walk, there craic was good and we had a lot of laughter and chat all the time.
