Weather:             Forecast dire but in truth it wasn't too bad.Fine from9.30-2.00 even patches of blue were spotted and then wet rain.

 

Leaving Slaidburn we made our way to Dunsop Head and then down to Whitendale between Stony Clough and Calf Clough Head with Grouse Butts on the right.A coffee break and then a steep incline up to Far Pasture and round the back of Middle Knoll to pick up the path near Brennand Farm to bring us down to the aqueduct where we had lunch.Along by the River Dunsop to Dunsop Bridge for a civilised comfort break.After some tree hugging on the way up to Thorneyholme Hall we followed the Hodder to Newton passing Knowlmere Manor and over Giddy Bridge into Newton where we regrouped in a spot of shelter below the Parkers Arms.From Newton to Slaidburn passing Dunnow Hall on the left by the Hodder.We arrived in Slaidburn just before 4pm.
