Starting from the café de la lune we walked down the old railway track into Glasson Dock then up the hill to stunning views across the bay, picking up the Lancashire coastal way, which we followed to the Black Knight parachute centre, stopping en route to admire Cockersands Abbey and a bite for lunch. This must be a first for the LDWA to walk across an airfield. Then it was on to Cockerham via the very picturesque St Michaels church, we then headed inland towards Ellel Grange and terrific views of the Bowland fells. Soon we reached the Lancaster canal, turning north we followed the tow path past the Glasson branch, past Galgate before turning away from the canal, heading west where after traversing a number of fields we arrived back at the Café de la lune. We were blessed with perfect walking weather and number of members took advantage of the café, all in all a great days walking which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.
