Distance            13 miles
Weather             Wet morning, dry afternoon

It was a misty, drizzly morning as 8 walkers and 2 dogs set off from the car park along Catherine Edge. After a couple of miles we passed through Stones Bank forest to the hamlet of Dimple north of Egerton. Following Cox Green Road and over the corner of Cheetham Close we arrived in Chapeltown village where we had our lunch stop by the village stocks.
By this time the mist and rain had cleared away as we made our way past the Wayoh and Entwistle reservoirs and along Edge Lane to meet Blackburn Road. Crossing the road we had a long climb up over the moors past the ruins of Old Lyons and  down to the track junction then onto the car park arriving back around 3.15pm from a walk which I thought was just over 10 miles but turned out to be 13 miles. Thanks to everyone who came on the walk and it was good to see Brian Siddle out again and I enjoyed having a chat with him and thanks to Doreen for taking the photos.
