   Weather:             Snow showers becoming heavier

Well 17 people and 3 dogs [Nellie, Jess and Fly] set off for a 10/11 mile walk from the Atom Panopticon  situated on the hillside above Wycoller village.  It is a domed structure made of ferro-cement with a surface coating of metal based paint with 360 degree views from its open windows and was launched by the Mayor of Pendle on the 22nd Sept 2006.

It was snowing but at least it wasn't cold.  We descended to Foster's Leap and picked up the Pendle Way following Smithy Clough and then the Pennine Bridle Way/Bronte Way.  At Will Moor we forked right to reach Upper and Lower Coldwell Reservoirs.  Close to Coldwell Activity Centre we went right had had lunch on an open hillside where Doreen discovered she'd took some barmcakes out of the freezer but she forgot to fill them with something, so she ate them dry.  It was then through a muddy wood (the snow was a blessing on the ground) and headed over to Trawden.  From here it was uphill to turn right along a ridge path where we encountered a scrap metal merchant's house.  There was anything and everything on both sides of the path except the kitchen sink.  Descending to the road we turned left and went onto Ball Grove nature reserve and the lake/cafe where Jean was feeding the ducks porridge.  From here it was fairly gentle beside Colne Water to Wycoller and then it was a string in the tail uphill back to the car park just as it started snowing quite heavily.
