26 members and five dogs met next to Huncoat Railway Station to walk 9.5 miles on the Huncoat Trail.  The temperature was mild and quite bright for mid-winter with no rain at all.  Conditions underfoot were often boggy.

From the starting point we crossed the motorway on the footbridge and walked about 1.5 miles on the bank of the Leeds/Liverpool canal towards Shuttleworth House.  We followed Burnley Way for a while before climbing to Hameldon Scouts where we stopped for lunch.  Skirting Huncoat quarry we walked to the monument on Peel Park where we admired the panoramic view.  In Huncoat village we stopped to look at the War Memorial, the Peace Garden and the Village Stocks.  From there we returned to our cars to finish the walk at 2.40pm.  The walk was enjoyed by all.  Thanks to Shirley for taking the photographs and to David for leading the walk,
