The Walk:-

Walk Leaders - Kate and Mike Motley

The 'Fish and Chip' walk, thanks to Kate and Mike, has now become an annual event and is eagerly looked forward to by a wide range of our members. Due to bad weather this year's walk had to be re-arranged from earlier in the month, but nevertheless followed the usual format ie. meet up at Parr Hall Farm around 4.00pm. then a brisk 5 mile walk to the attractive village of Croston, where we stop to refresh ourselves in the back garden of the flowery Black Horse pub. From there it's just a few hundred yards through the village to the focal point of the walk, namely the Westhead Fish and Chip shop.

This was indeed a social occasion as 19 of us sat outside at picnic tables eating excellent fish and chips, with cutlery, bread and butter and wine supplied courtesy of the Motleys, and even more wine brought along by Glyn.

With full stomachs, the walk back to Eccleston and Parr Hall Farm, was at a more leisurely pace, but even that was too much for those who simply had to break the walk back with a stop for more refreshment, sat outside the Farmer's Arms - life can be tough!

Thanks Kate and Mike for all your efforts and don't you dare not do it again next year.

Stan.
