Anglezarke Amble 2022

It was wonderful to get back to some sort of normality after being restricted due to Covid for so long. Not only was it good to see again so many familiar faces, but it was great to meet those new to the event particularly all the younger participants and groups from all over the country.

The weather conditions were much better than expected staying quite dry for most of the day with just a little rain later, although it was windy on the tops as many reported.

Participants were extremely satisfied with the refreshments at Entwistle and Slipper Lowe and the soup and roll provided by Rivington Village Green Tea Rooms at the end was spot on,  as reflected in the verbal and written feedback received.

"Many thanks to all the group members who turned out today to help at S/F and at CPs. It was lovely to be able to have the usual drink and toast before the start and the T and biscuits at the finish

The post event meal at the cafe worked well-the staff were very good, the soup excellent and the wedge of bread more than enough to replace calories expended."

"Thank you a well organised event and thanks to the great volunteers, enjoyed it very much glad I got back b4 the rain. The pea & ham soup at the cafe was delicious."

"Just wanted to send a very big thank you for a brilliant day on the Anglezarke Challenge walk. My friends and I enjoyed every minute/step. The event was well organised, amazing food and drinks, so many happy friendly faces so eager to help an keep you going. And to top it what a beautiful area to walk.

It’s so good to be out there with so many fellow walkers again. Thank you again, your hard work and planning definitely showed."

Once again both Raynet and Bolton Mountain Rescue must be thanked for the valuable part they played in the smooth running of the event.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to a very successful event.  Same again next year!!
