Anglezarke Amble 2018

The 2018 Amble was a great success again, so a big thanks to all who helped out and special thanks to Bolton MRT and Raynet

Despite the atrocious weather conditions the event was again a great success. The 300 entrants were, as usual, very cheerful even though they had spent the full day walking / running in rain, hail, snow and mist.

The comments received reflect this;

“We completed the Long Route Run on Saturday and we can certainly testify to the “atrocious weather conditions”. This was our first LDWA event, our first run over 20 miles for that matter, and we were impressed by how well organised the event was, how friendly the volunteers and participants were and with the value for money. We’ll hopefully be looking to enter more LDWA events in the future.”

“Please pass on my thanks to the marshal’s out on the course and those in the main kitchen. Great to have a cuppa at Slipper Lowe, the team at Entwistle did well to relocate etc and the cheese, spuds and tomatoes at White Coppice were great when sometimes towards the end of an event you have had enough of sweet stuff. Not my fastest running of the route but a satisfying and tough day out.”

“Many thanks for a great day out yesterday. Thanks again to all those who supported the event, with their traditional good humour and kindness."

There was quite a lot of lost property this year including ankle gaiters, gloves, a walking pole, running shoes, walking trousers (not in picture), a hydration system, a red bag and a map with map case (not in picture).
