We are now on Facebook!

On Monday 20th February member, Mark Atkinson, gave a talk on the setting up of the West Lancs Facebook page, which is now up and running. 

The most important information is that our page is a ‘closed’ group and only those members who sign up to the page can access and put on information.  Therefore it is confidential to our group.  Facebook in no way detracts from the use of the website for club news, events etc., more it enhances the potential of members who join to communicate with each other via messenger.  It has advantages like being able to post photo’s of holidays and if a member is doing a walk on short notice, then this can be posted on Facebook.  As secretary I receive lots of notifications for holidays, short breaks and ‘deals’ and it is here I could post information.  Please do not confuse this with Twitter where there is no confidentiality and where there is a live feed of information that everyone, ie the general public can access.

All that is required to sign up is to be on Facebook and to send a request to become a member.
