A Bumble about in Barton on Humber

16 folk met at the water’s edge car park on the River Humber riverbank on pleasantly warm summer’s day.

Lorna outlined the day and took the group photo at the sign for the start of the Viking Way. Onto the River Humber bank we followed this West under the Humber Bridge all the way to the Sluice gate and lock onto the River Ancholme where we had Elevenses.

Following The Ancholme and some virgin jungle we made our way to Bonby church for our lunch stop.

Leaving the Church our afternoon saw us scale the ridge to the Viking way all the way to the Viking in South Ferriby where we found a nice pond for an afternoon stop.

Continuing along field edges and riverbank we made our way back to our cars in Barton.

Many thanks go to Lorna for a cracking walk and a good turn out to boot.
