2019 AGM

Saturday 26th Jan

Seven folk met at 08:30am Kings Chamber Thorne for the 11ish miles pre AGM walk.

We left the Kings chamber to walk towards the Omega factory and found the River Don bank.

We followed the bank towards Stainforth, once we hit the flood defences a dog walkers ‘ladder’ was fond to scale the heights. We then proceeded along the Stainforth and Keadby Canal from the East Bank rd. Once we were at Bramwith Bridge we found the impressive civil engineering work of the Aqueduct. This Aqueduct took the new junction Canal over the River Don.

Crossing the Aqueduct along a desperate gangway we followed the New Junction Canal to Bramwith and found the Church for elevenses.

Returning to Thorne we took the other side of the Don bank all the way to Fishlake and their impressive church. Back along the river we found the green lanes of the Thorne round walk that took us to the Jubilee Bridge and back to Thorne for the AGM.

Three more folk met us at the Kings Chamber for the AGM.
