The Loyal Trooper

Vermuyden walk 22nd July leader Dave Wolsey.

15 walkers met at Langold Country Park on a very very warm day.

We left the park and followed the Salt Hill Road to Firbeck and then through Firbeck over fields and stiles to Laughton en le Morten where we had our morning break in their lovely church grounds.

We left Laughton to walk through the Hardwick estate and the through Todwick then over fields and stiles to South Anston and the Loyal Trooper pub for our well-earned and very much needed refreshments.

After the pub we continued to the Chesterfield canal then along the canal and through Carlton golf course towards Woodsetts and then taking a footpath to Wallingwells and back to Langold Country Park. We were all a little tired after 21 miles on a hot day but what a lovely varied walk,

Well led as usual by Dave.
