Shirley's Smiles - Jul 2016

Shirleys Smiles walk on Sunday July 24th.

17 joint walkers from the East Yorkshire, Irregulars and Vermuyden LDWA walking groups met at the Triton Inn at Brantington to walk Shirley's Smiles walk in memory of Shirley Forster a previous member of groups. The walk was led by Aaron Hookway of Vermuyden and started at 8.30am on a sunny and warm Sunday morning.

The walk  started up the steep hill out of  Brantingham then onto the Beverley 20 then down towards Elloughton then up to Welton top and down Welton Dale to Welton and again following the Beverley 20 to Wauldby farm and on to Nut Wood.

After sandwiches near Nut Wood we continued on past Turtle Hill back on the Beverley 20 towards Brantingham then down past Brantingham church and up and over Ellerker North Wold and down into South Cave.

We stopped in the pub at South Cave for much needed refreshments and then down into Ellerker and a walk around Ellerker we passed the house where Shirley had lived and then back to Brantingham and finish.

We had a really nice walk led by Aaron on a lovely day, well done Aaron.
