On Foot by Folli - July 2015

Todays quaint group of 6 met at the Wetherby riverside car park at the alloted hour of 8.30am.

The days weather promised to be warm with a cooling breeze.

The morning saw us walk in splendid countryside towards Kirkby Overblow where we saw our first signtings of the day of the Harewood Red Kites and elevenses were taken at the church.

We made our way towards the Harrogate Showground passing Rudding park and crossing the River Crimple with grand views of the viaduct. Lunch was taken at the Airewood Arms in Follifoot at approx 13 miles.

The afternoons walk took us to the castle at Spofforth (we are in the war of the roses teritory... apt for members walking the Red Rose 100)

From Spofforth we found the Harland railway and had a steady level 3 miles back to the cars at Weatherby.

21ish miles today well lead by Frank Lawson in wonderfull countryside.
