Another Amber Amble - Sunday April 27th 2014

10 walkers met at the appointed hour of 8:30am in the appointed car park in Clay Cross NE Derbyshire (well most of us did! - Looks in the general direction of Aaron ;-)

Setting of a little later than planned, Dave and Frank took us around the often overlooked countryside at the head of the Amber Valley in north east Derbyshire.

The 20 mile walk scaled Bole Hill, visited the villages of Stubbing, Uppertown and Kelstedge before a refreshing stop at The Poets Corner in Ashover.

The afternoon saw us return via the villages of Eastwood, Littlemoor and Handley when an unexpected closed footpath sign saw our leader divert the planned route over yet another hill.

Another enjoyable day out with the Vermuyden group superbly led as ever by Dave Ashford with a little help from Frank Lawson, thanks both.
