Snaith Sircles Social Walk - 18th August 2013

A total of twenty seven walkers met in Snaith to join Maggie & Chris Hayley on their Snaith Sircles walk. The walk consisted of three circular walks centered on the town of Snaith on the western fringes of East Yorkshire. The majority of walkers completed a combined distance of around 19 miles (4 miles, 9miles & 6 miles) although four of the original starters who felt more comfortable with shorter walks left us on our returns to the start. The weather was perfect for walking, sunny with a cooling breeze, the walks were most interesting taking in several attractive villages and stretches of both the River Aire and the Aire & Calder Canal and the going was easy with not a contour in sight! We managed a lunch stop at The Brewers Arms in Snaith which is the brewery tap for the Old Mill Brewery in Snaith so the quality of the refreshment was excellent. A big thanks to Maggie and Chris for leading a smashing walk.
