The 12th Marsden Moors and The Marsden Moors Marathon

 

                     Saturday 9th May 2020

A trio of circular challenging routes, 26.2, 23 or 18 miles, in and around the beautiful Colne Valley

 

Extended Route - The Marsden Moors now incorporates the Marsden Moors Marathon. We now have a full Marthon route. All checkpoints would remain the same but the cutoff for the Marathon is 2pm at Brun Clogh CP, giving participants 3hrs to complete 8miles. An additional 3 miles will be added from the top of the descent to the footbridge over Blakely Clogh. From here a path is followed to a ford and then down to Wessenden Reservoir embankment. Then Wessenden Lodge to climb to Hey Brinks. Follow Deer Hill Conduit to a path that descends via Round Hill to the B6107, Methan Road. Then the Colne Valley Circuit and path to A62. Field path from Olive Branch restaurant to the Huddersfield Narrow Canal and then tow path back to start.

Start / finish venue:

Marsden Parochial Hall, adjacent to St Bartholomew’s Church. Marsden, Near Huddersfield. (Grid ref SE 046116),

Car Parking:

Participants should park in the Railway Station over-spill car park, which is free & 5 mins walk from the event HQ.  Marshals will be on hand to direct you.

Start time: 

Mass start 8.30am, (registration open from 7.30am)

   

Entry Fee:

Advance entry £8 (SI Entries + £1.20).  On the day £10. (U16s free).

Full refund up to 1 month before event.  After that no refund due to admin costs.  Substitutions allowed if prior notice given to entry secretary.

Entry includes:

Tea & toast at registration, cold drinks & snacks at checkpoints, a meal at the finish and a badge & certificate.  Please bring your own mug to use on the event.
