Dear Nick

Many thanks for your time on the phone just now.  As explained, I am getting in touch on behalf of the Green Lanes Environmental Action Movement (GLEAM). We are contacting walking groups in the Lake District and beyond to ask if you would consider emailing your members to let them know about the crowd funding appeal which has been launched to support the legal action we are taking  against the Lake District National Park Authority for refusing to use its legal powers to stop damaging off-roading by recreational 4x4s and motor bikes in the Little Langdale area.  A press release with further information is attached. You may also have seen the Guardian article at https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2019/dec/16/lake-district-campaign-plans-legal-action-over-off-road-vehicles

We launched the appeal via Crowd Justice on 9 December. It closes at midday on 8 January.

We have raised £40k so far but need to reach £60k.

It would be a tremendous help if you could help spread the word about the appeal. Over 1,000 people are supporting us so far but we need to reach out to more people within the Lake District and beyond.

The link to the fund raising page is at https://www.crowdjustice.com/case/green-lanes-environmental-action/ It has all the information needed for people to be able to decide if they would like to support us.

If you decide that this something your members would want to know about, please ask them to go to https://www.crowdjustice.com/case/green-lanes-environmental-action/ by midday on 8  January, and also to spread the word among their own friends and contacts.

If you can help as spread the word, that would be wonderful.

Best wishes and very many thanks for your support
Patricia Stubbs
