My name is Roger Jackson I am East Lancs Secretary also Red Rose 50 Co-Ordinator.
The reason I am writing is to ask if you could help us by publicising this years Red Rose 50, on September 14/15 this year, within your group.
Feedback from the previous two years events has been very positive. We are well prepared for this year and have improved the night section to make it a little easier, but unfortunately entries are well down on previous years. I guess a major factor is a couple of popular local 50 milers have returned recently and there is now one in Scotland around the same time as ours. Actually, I did complete the local ones myself for the first time this year, albeit right at the back and they were both very enjoyable.
However, we are very aware our event is a qualifier for the LDWA 100 and it will certainly go ahead but equally very keen to have enough entrants to make it an enjoyable experience for both competitors and marshals. In addition, would like to keep open the possibility of running it again next year.
