Note from Thames Valley Committee

Following the untimely death of Howard Mann, Thames Valley LDWA once again find themselves without a Chairperson.  Therefore the committee are asking all our Primary Members to consider putting their names forward for the post.

The task is not an onerous or time consuming one and you would come to the post knowing you have a good, supportive committee to help.

The group and subsequently our full and varied walking programme, the Oxon 40 /20 event and other social occasions cannot be sustained without some ‘key’ positions in place, a requirement of both the Thames Valley and National LDWA Constitution.

We would like to ask you all to think about joining the committee as our Chairperson to ensure the continuation of such a successful walking group. 

If anyone would like to know a little more about what the role entails, please contact any of the committee members. 

The committee are also seeking a person to join the sub-committee in the role of Merchandiser, again not an onerous role but another way of helping out and sharing the load.

If you enjoy shopping, you are perfect for the job! For example, we would like to provide our Marshall’s with new T-shirt’s as a way of thanking them for their support on the Oxon 40 / 20.  We need someone to come up with a good supplier. Additionally, by joining the sub-committee, you would get an appreciation of how the group is organised.
