Appointment of Chairman and Oxon Coordinator

Appointment of Chairman and Oxon Coordinator
The Long Distance Walkers Association

Dear Members,

Following the unexpected resignation of our chairman Gerry Garland, the committee asked members if anyone would be prepared to stand as Chairperson for the Thames Valley LDWA. Additionally, it was felt timely to ask if any member  would be prepared to step forward to take on the role of the Oxon 40 / 20 Co-ordinator for 2019, in part to separate it from the overall duties of a chairperson.

The committee are delighted to report that both positions have now been filled.

Chairman

Howard Mann, a long standing member of Thames Valley LDWA, has stepped forward to offer his services. His application was fully endorsed by the committee and was proposed by H. Davies and seconded by J. Sambrook. Howard will be co-opted onto the committee until the AGM in 2019 when he will be required to stand for re-election alongside all the committee.  This action fully complies with the Thames Valley Constitution and has the full support of the National Committee. Howard will be writing to you all in due course to introduce himself.

Oxon 40 / 20 Co-ordinator

Huw Davies, already a co-opted member of the committee and a regular walker, has kindly stepped forward to take on this role.  The appointment was proposed by M. Downes and seconded by G. Scott.

Kind regards

Maureen Downes

Thames Valley Secretary
