Welcome to the Surrey Group...

We are a friendly and active group offering a range of social and challenge walks. Our social walks are typically around 20 miles and we usually bring our own lunch! We tend to walk at a fairly brisk pace on footpaths and bridleways mostly in Surrey but sometimes straying into Hampshire and West Sussex. Each walk is graded to give people an indication of the expected pace and terrain.  Most walks attract about 10 to 20 walkers. Social walks take place mainly at weekends with some during mid-week.

Challenge walks, listed individually above, are open to all whilst social walks are for LDWA members. If you are not yet a member of the LDWA then don't despair because you are most welcome to join us on two or three social walks to 'try us out'. We hope then that you will become a member with the additional benefits that membership brings.

So... if you would like to come along and walk with us then all you need to do is choose a walk from the walks programme, call the leader to let him/her know you'll be coming and turn up. Its that simple! Whilst dogs may be welcome on social walks this is entirely at the discretion of the walk leader and is subject to certain conditions.

In line with the national LDWA guidelines the Surrey group is restarting social walks. Details of these, including date, time, area and leader, will be advertised via the group email system to primary group members only at this stage. The walk email will contain details of how to apply to join a walk and details of the start venue will be sent to participants only. Walks will be limited to a total of 6 people and places allocated on a first come first served basis.
