Diggle

Five of us left sam road CP at 9.05 on a misty morning, we followed the pennine bridleway and crossed the A62 and then picked up the pennine way over to the station to station walk path heading towards marsden, after a quick stop at the close gate bridge we climbed up to the Kirklees way above marsden. After dropping down and crossing the Huddersfield canal we climbed up to and followed the blackmoorfoot conduit until we picked up the colne valley circular walk. We climbed up to bin edge over looking marsden where Neil complained about his frankenstien hand me down boots that were letting water in !! A short drop down to butterley reservoir and a sprint up the valley for a lunch stop at the air shaft over looking the valley (sorry no pictures toms fault). Pennine way then over black moss, we followed PW until we reached black moss reservoir, then we turned south on the old PW towards the A635. After 2 miles of bog hopping we turned right onto the old road leading down to running hill pits. Through dead crow gate and down to the cross keys pub for a well earned pint. A short drop down over the railway line to the canal for the short walk back to the CP at diggle.
