Ready for a pint

Nine set off from Godley train station, on a walk to Manchester which brought back  memories to many of bygone days, including playing recorder in their school uniform at Fairfield Moravian Church, swimming in Debdale  Reservoir in the days before health and safety and risk assessments. Engineering works of parents and relatives working days, Jaffa cakes smells from the nearby Mcvittes bakery, and best of all, watching Law, Best and Charlton, from the Stretford End. More modern times were visited around the Media Centre at Salford Docks. The walk finished with Steve who bought drinks all round to celebrate his birthday and retirement .

Thanks to all who made it an enjoyable day out,

Lynn and Neil.
