Last one at Anne's

The now annual Ffriezland walk took place on Sat December 17th 2016, with walkers drifting in at Anne’s before the start time, for coffee/tea and warm mince pies ( with a selection of three bakers to choose from).   So at 0830 off we went 10 of us, with an uphill start to reach Moor Edge Road (track).  A short stop at the fingerpost, before heading across Ogden and Ormes Moor, and given the mist, navigation with a  trusted Silva compass, to get us to the concession path on the skyline, to head onto Chew Res.  (Not the same route as 2015).

All downhill from Chew, contoured around Dovestones via the Quarry, and after a lunch stop at Binn Green, uphill to Alderman’s.  Unfortunately the mist continued to prevent any views after the climb, off we went via Slades rocks, down into Uppermill, an easy walk home along the canal.

Mr Hull enjoyed a Black Sheep (beer) back at base, to recognise his 5000 mile plus of walking, within the year.

So a bit shorter than published, as 16.5 miles, but still 3000ft of ascent, and we had a new member Sid with us too, and only his 3rd LDWA walk too.

Merry Christmas everyone, and thanks for coming on my walk.
