DLM - Dovestones, Longdendale and Mossley.

The walk title was a bit of a giveaway as to the proposed route but as ever the devil was in the detail.  10 of us mustered for start at 08:30 and as we set off past the sailing club, Anne joined us to make it 11.  Impressivley Ian and Andrew were both on the walk having completed this years 100 just last weekend.  A little confusion at the start of the climb away from Dovestones as we waited for Anne to note the way we'd taken.  So up Rams Clough to the edge we were to follow to Chew Reservior.  Looking back and around us the heighs of Saddleworth and its skyline were as impressive as always.  Over the moors and feeling pretty wintery, we made our way to the Pennine Way.  Glorious views down to Crowden and Longdendale.  One or two folk walking the Pennine Way.  Following the reservoirs down the valley we made our way to Tintwislte and had our lunch on benches by the stocks.  In part we then followed the Pennine Bridleway undulating up and down towards Carrbrook.  The Tameside Trail and other pathes then as we skirted Mossley to make it back Dovestones.  A reasonable 19.5 miles.
