2015 02 05 Glorious Godley

From Godley train station we made our way to Daisy Nook, making use of our urban green spaces, Jet Amber Fields, Ashton Canal, Rycroft Hall, The disused Guide Bridge to Droylsden rail link and the Hollingwood Canal. After a short break it was onward and upward along the Tameside Trail to Hartshead Pike, then an icy descent to the canal at Millbrook, where we stopped for lunch. A steady ascent along the flank of Harridge Pike and then a short sharp climb to Mottram Church only left a pleasant stroll through Great Wood, before returning to Godley where we departed clutching our new South Pennine shirts. Thanks to all attended and whose company made for a great day out.
