2014 06 12 Burrs Country Park

The walk came round faster than imagined after the 100.  Would my blisters have healed and could I get out and do the recce?  Shouldn't have been concerned; it went well on the day.  Ideal weather and quite a contrast to the 100 - the day being warm, dry and bright.  Ideal conditions.  9 of us set out from Burrs travelling up the Irwell Valley.  Soon after Sumerseat we became 8 as one of our number decided the walk wasn't going to be for them.  Always a pity but the pace to complete the walk in a "reasonable" LDWA tine is what it is and what most in the group would expect. Climb out of the valley and up to Edenfield before down into the valley and coffee break at one of the Irwell Sculpture Trail land makrs - the "picture frame".  Out the other side going up NT land and along to Peel Tower.  Down Redisher Woods and walk over to Jumbles reservoir taking in views of Winter Hill, with Darwin Tower visible for a short time.  Skirt round the edge of Bolton and then to Elton and Bury.  A short section along the Irwell again returning us to Burrs.
