With 2 big events taking place on Saturday I wasn’t expecting a great number of people to arrive for the walk and so was pleasantly surprised that there was 10 of us including 2 guests who, although they found it hard, thoroughly enjoyed the day.  Special thanks to Virginia who both encouraged  and inspired them just as she did with me around 2 ½ yrs ago and to John for looking after Joanne at the back and then giving Joanne & Deborah his strider at the end of the walk.  It’s a hilly route so the effort kept us warm in what was a very chilly wind.  One big burst of rain on the way up to Top Withens didn’t dampen our spirits and on the whole the views were great for most of the day  .  Glen was his usual cheeky self tormenting Val who felt compelled to buy a new handbag from the gift shop attached to the café in Trawden where we stopped for a very welcome warm drink and cake.  Thanks also to Bob, Julie and Rochdale Norman for joining me on what was a most enjoyable day.
