2014 03 06 Edale Ordeal

This was one of Norman's brisk walks and six of us gathered at Bowden Bridge car park, just outside of Hayfield.  The weather forecast was good but as we climbed on to Kinder we found ourselves in mist and later on rain.  Dropping down to Edale via Ringing Roger we came from under the clag and had good views over the Vale of Edale.  A coffee break was taken in Edale and thence up to Hollins Cross.  Dropping back down to Barber Booth we then ascended Chapel Gate.  At the top of the climb Stephen (new to the group) took the opportunity of cutting a corner back to the cars by using the Pennine Bridleway.  Roger knowing the area volunteered to lead Stephen back to the cars.  That left four of us to skirt close to Chapel-en-le-Frith before returning to the starting point.  An excellent day out in the Peak District.
