The cakes are on me (13/07/2017)

A small but handpicked group of five - plus Bess - met at the Reddish Roundabout Car Park. Past the Lancashire Hill Flats with their green and white cladding leading to thoughts and opinions on the Grenfell Tower tragedy. Then an easy walk along the Trans Pennine Trail, with a plethora of mostly relevant information, readily available from our leader.

Reddish Vale Visitor Centre, the Butterfly Centre and the Viaduct hove into view, again more information, but more importantly, The Cakes. Clearly, today's participants had forsaken any evening meal as a Mr Kipling free for all took place. Duncan took first place closely followed by Bess, but it was close!

The return trip closely followed the River Tame, and of course we had to visit the Weir for a photo shoot. Back at base via the little hamlet of Lancashire Hill, spot on target at 21.00. The two Daves bade farewell, and Birthday Boy was treated to a very nice pint by Don and Duncan. Two hours in the sun, nice company, it made being seventy two much easier.
