Nine including the leader met up at the former Whitegate station car park, near Winsford.

 

John was joined by Frank (S M/c), Tim (Nottingham), Peter (Lichfield), Graham (Birmingham), Jean (Whitchurch) and three prospective members - Rachel & Rachel from Rochdale and Rina from Chorlton - all in training for "Race to the Stones" a 100km event along the Ridgeway in mid-July.

 

A welcome return of summer brought sunny weather and temperatures into the twenties, as we walked by the Whitegate Way and through Delamere Forest & Primrosehill Wood to the village of Utkinton.  Refreshed by hot chocolate and cake at Rose Farm, we continued by country lanes through Eaton & Rushton, past Oulton Park and into Little Budworth Country Park.  A few more miles of lanes, past Abbots Moss wood, brought us back to the car park.

 

Twenty-two miles of beautiful Cheshire countryside, in fine weather and good company.
