A gloriously sunny day greeted six walkers of whom four were from North Yorks and two guests from Calderdale.

We proceeded along Leeds / Liverpool canal to emerge in Skipton thence over the road to gain Skipton woods via the castle.  Over the somewhat dodgy A59 to cross a golf course before making our way to the highest point of the day Sharp Haw.

We dropped off the summit to cross the curiously named Septeria beck to visit Flasby for the first of two visits.  Along Hetton beck and into the village before a long gentle uphill stroll on Moor Lane to then drop down to an almost empty Winterburn reservoir and a well earned lunch break.

A road section took us to Friars Head where we encountered challenge walkers from Gargrave.  Over grassy fields with glorious views of Rylstone Cross and Cracoe memorial away in the cloudless distance.  Then back to Flasby and thence into Crag wood before our journey back to Skipton.

Good walk, good company and cracking weather.  Thanks to all.
