Xmas Meal / Walk | Sunday 16 December 2018

Walk Leader: Andy Ward
Participants: 14 (walk) / 17 (dinner)
Mileage: 8 miles
Walk Report: Wendy Leete

Following a wretched Saturday, Sunday turned out to be a lovely cold, but sunny day and 14 of us left Beckwithshaw for a short walk before enjoying a Christmas dinner at the local pub. This is a small corner of North Yorkshire that's unexplored, but just as beautiful as the more well known areas of the county, with undulating hills, small valleys and beautiful scenery.  We took to the road and followed a well made track towards Ten Acre reservoir.  On leaving the track we headed downhill towards a small forest area, on to a good track before heading uphill to a local farm where we enjoyed a small coffee by Long Liberty Farm.  Turning the corner our journey took us, via the Harrogate Link, through a number of fields and farms and back to Beckwithshaw.  By this time we had all worked up an appetite and the smell of good food was calling.
