Wetwang | Saturday 4 August 2018

Walk Leader: Andy Miller
Participants: 6
Mileage: 22 miles
Walk Report: Lucy Astle

We set off from St Nicholas Church in Wetwang at 8.30am.  The weather was as we’ve come to expect, warm and dry, maybe a little too hot at times!  There were 6 of us.  The route was on very good tracks, paths and field edges, a mixture of the Wolds, Chalkland, and Minster Ways with some other paths. All paths were well signed.  There were fantastic views over the Wolds.  We saw Beverley Minster, the Humber Bridge, and Ferrybridge Power Station in the distance.

We met very limited people on the way; a dogwalker, 2 couples doing the Wolds Way, 2 cyclists and a runner.  The farmers were busy though harvesting wheat and peas.  We stopped at lunchtime in the village of North Dalton; and had a drink in the pub next to the duck pond.  The total mileage for the walk was 22.  A lovely day with good company, with the walk expertly planned and led by Andy.  Thanks all.
