Wensleydale Wedge 2017 Results

The 27th Wensleydale Wedge took place on Sunday 19th November 2017.

There were 230 starters and 229 finishers.  The weather was stayed fine all day and ground conditions were good; views across Wensleydale were wonderful.  The 2016 revision to the route from Castle Bolton via Carperby was again well received.

Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team has sent a letter of thanks for the donation that the event made to their funds.  SMRT is entirely run by volunteers and depends on donations as it receives no public funding.  They are currently building a radio network to cover their operational area in Swaledale and Wensleydale, this will enable the team members to more effectively contribute to the rescue effort and provides their safety coverage as they operate in remote countryside which has limited mobile phone coverage.
