THIS EVENT IS NOW

FULLY BOOKED

Description:

Launched in 2017, the Capital Challenge is a 28-mile urban challenge walk organised by the London Group to celebrate the capital. It passes through some of London's best open spaces including Royal Parks, Hampstead & Highgate, the Woodberry Wetlands, the River Lea, and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and it includes some surprises along the way. The route is almost completely mud-free and passes a wide variety of shops and cafés along much of its length. There are 4 checkpoints, 2 with simple refreshments; the start & finish are at cafés close to public transport. 28 miles; 200 walkers only.

In 2019 the event is being held on Saturday 6th April 2019

Entries open on the 1st November 2018 and close on the 1st April 2019

Route Description/GPX file:

The 2019 route description can be downloaded in Word format here and in PDF format here.

The GPX file is available herePlease note it is the same to the routes used in 2017 and 2018, and thus will have a 2017 date.

The stormy weather meant that some sections had been closed for health and safety reasons in mid-March. We hope that these will be reopened in time for the challenge, but the GPX route with the detours necessitated by this can also be downloaded here, and we recommend also having this just in case.
