Route Description 2018

Introduction:
Hitting the streets again on Saturday 7 April 2018, this is an exciting 28-mile challenge walk being organised by the London Group.
New for 2018 - higher participant limit!:
The participant limit has been increased from 100 (in 2017) to 200 for 2018.
Summary:
This is the second Capital Challenge. Launched in 2017, this is an urban walk celebrating the capital. A surprise introduction to some of London's best open spaces including Royal Parks, Hampstead & Highgate, the new Woodberry Wetlands, the River Lea, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. 28 miles; 200 walkers only.

Description:
Celebrating the best of London's green spaces, the route uses almost completely mud-free paths through public parks, fine town squares, waterways and green spaces. 4 checkpoints, 2 with simple refreshments; start & finish at cafés close to public transport. This is an urban walk that passes a wide variety of shops and cafés along much of its length.

Entry Fees:

- £15 members, £25 non-members
- Entries open on 1st November
- Entries close on 30th March, i.e. 7 days (including Easter) before the event
Entry Process:
Entry is online-only, via SIEntries

Young people:
Participants aged between 11 and 16 years (inclusive) will be required to complete and bring with them to the event a completed copy of a Parental Consent form.

Results and Timings:
We will use electronic registration and tracking so that results can be published on the LDWA London website with split times immediately after the event.
