Note however, as a consolation, there is also a "Pop Up" walk tomorrow (Sunday 9th). Updated 26/3 with more details of highlights as follows: *** Things to look forward to on this shortish but highlight-filled tour of the West Kent marshes... * MEET 9:13 at Higham station (8:09 from Charing Cross, 8:17 from London Bridge). * GASP at the awesome views across the Thames to Mucking and the Coryton refinery. * DODGE the bullets and arrows of Great Chattenden Wood. * FEAST on microwaved pizza (or bring your own lunch if you'd prefer) * MARVEL at the launch pad of the Brennan Guided Torpedo. * EXPLORE the wreck of the Hans Egede. * FROLIC with the wild horses of Higham Saltings. * TREAD the very carpet where Charles Dickens once spilt his pint. * PAMPER yourself in the tattoo parlours and nail salons of Olde Gravesende. * FINISH at Gravesend station where frequent trains will take you back to civilisation (or wait there for our start on 6 May). ***

CANCELLED Meet Higham station (depart Charing Cross 08:09, London Bridge 08:17) Finish: Gravesend Station (frequent trains back to London termini)

Morning via farms/orchards and through Great Chattenden Wood to Cooling/Cliffe. Afternoon through Cliffe RSPB and via three Thamesside forts along the sea wall to Gravesend. Includes part of the Saxon Shore Way

General Notes
Car parking at both stations. Pub/Lunch at Cooling (hoi) or Cliffe (polloi); afternoon stop at Gravesend (Ship & Lobster) No dogs please
