Broxbourne Woods and the New River - this week with London LDWA
The Long Distance Walkers Association

Farewell New River is a follow-up to Peter's New River walk last year. We start by heading into the very wonderful Broxbourne Woods, Hertfordshire's only National Nature Reserve, once traversed by the Roman Ermine Street.

Lunch is in the county town of Hertford - plenty of options to choose from, but our leader will be in the local Wetherspoons. We pick up the New River early in the afternoon, at the Gauge House where it takes in water from the Lea, and follow it through varied scenery back to Broxbourne. Total distance is now 19 miles.
