Dear all
The countdown to the London LDWA AGM is well underway and with only seventeen days to go until the big day itself, on 8 March, the tension is almost unbearable. So, while we have this all-important event in mind, let's seize the moment and have a quick newsflash!

Now, as a distraction from all the excitement, we've got no fewer than three (yes, three!) fantastic walks programmed in for you this week. Here are the details:
Our first walk this week is on Wednesday, when Ian will be leading us on a tour of some of the sights of "Atmospheric London". This sounds like an absolutely fascinating walk, traversing the city from Old Street to Victoria whilst challenging us to avoid roads as much as possible. If you'd like to go - and let's face it the gloomy February evenings offer the perfect opportunity to experience London at its most atmospheric, so who wouldn't - then just join Ian at Old Street Underground station (Central concourse) at 18.00 on Wednesday.
Some of the sights that are sure to greet you on our Atmospheric London walk Prize if you can spot the Wetherspoons
Our second walk, another of our fabled "pop ups", is a midweek daytime special on Thursday. This time, it's Godfrey who is holding the reins and he will be leading a 16 mile walk from Staines to Ruislip Manor - the first in a two part series which will eventually take us all the way to Rickmansworth. If find yourself in the fortunate position of not being enslaved to the nine-to-five on Thursday, and would like to go, then you can join the walk at Staines Rail Station at 10.22 on Thursday morning. Details of part 2 of this journey will be released on the website shortly.
And finally, rounding off a triumphant week, on Saturday, David will be taking us over the hills and far away, from Croydon to Wokingham. And although the "'W' word" doesn't feature in his walk description, I have a strong-ish suspicion that at least one example of LDWA London's de facto second home may be encountered somewhere along the way. But to find out for sure if it does, you'll have to join Dave at 09.30 at East Croydon station at 09.30 on Saturday morning.
Right! To avoid giving you mental indigestion, I'll stop the information download here, and wish you all the best for the forthcoming week.
Adam
