The AGM agenda and a report on challenge events are attached to this message. Other reports will be sent over the next couple of weeks.
Nominations for appointments to the LDWA London Group committee need to be sent to london@ldwa.org.uk by 22nd February. Nominations need a proposer and seconder.
No motions, to be voted on, were received from members by the due date so the only votes to be taken by the meeting will be for the election of the committee and the committee’s motion to approve the refunds policy.
Any other items not on the agenda that members want to discuss can be raised under AOB on the day, but it would be helpful to let the committee know beforehand in case there is a need to gather some information to inform the discussion.
Long-standing LDWA member Peter Charlton has generously donated to London LDWA his complete ten-volume Folio / Frances Lincoln edition of Wainwright's Pictorial Guides. As well as all seven of the guides to the Fells, the set includes the Outlying Fells, Pennine Way Companion and Coast-to-Coast Walk. The AGM will close with a charity auction for the complete set, with proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Support. In the best traditions of Sotheby's and Christie's, if you can't attend the AGM but would like to bid, then please email london@ldwa.org.uk by the end of Wednesday 7 March stating your maximum bid and we'll make sure it's included.
If you would like to share a meal after the AGM please let Gordon Parker know at gordonparker46@gmail.com (he has a note of those who commented on his LDWA London Facebook post last week). Gordon is exploring options in Fitzrovia and across the Euston Road in Drummond Street, half a mile from the AGM venue. If you tell him you are interested he will keep you informed as he learns more about likely cost, etc. but indicative numbers will help him to secure a favourable booking.
