London LDWA

Hello everyone

Welcome to another Monday.

As usual there's lots going on at the moment - here's a summary of this week's activities!

  1. The "Silk River" programme is in full flow (if you'll pardon the pun).   There's a walk every day this week, so do make sure you join in.   You can find all the details on the LDWA London website (click here) and on the Silk River website (click here).   The final walk is on Sunday (24 September).
Contact Gordon at silkriverlondon@ldwa.org.uk for more info

  2. Godfrey's trip to the Lake District heads off on Saturday (23 September).
You can find out more by clicking here

  3. No sooner than Godfrey has been despatched northwards, than we learn that 2018 will bring us another opportunity to head up the M6.   Yes, in June, Rob is offering us the chance to join him on another fine trip to beautiful Cumbria.  His Lake District trip is scheduled for 9-16 June 2016.
It's always good to have something "summery" to look forward to as we head into the winter months, so check out the box below to find more

  4. And of course, our social walks programme resumes on Sunday (24 September) with Peter's Kent walk, of which more later.

But first, let's just dream for a moment about the lovely Lakes for a minute:

Returning now to the social walks programme, this gets back into full swing again on Sunday when Peter is going mountaineering in Kent.   Yes I know this sounds a bit improbable but actually it's the first part in a series of walks exploring the highest points in each of Kent's council areas.   So if you fancy bagging a few Maidstones (which I assume is the Kentish equivalent of a Munro) then mark the date in your diary and then take the 08.30 from St Pancras (via Strood) to Aylesford station, where Peter will meet you.

Well on that note I'm going to sign off for now.   Have a great week, and make the most of all the activities we've got on offer!

Adam
