Hello everyone!
Hope you are all doing well and making the most of the summery weather we've been enjoying lately. London's collective Vitamin D levels must be reaching an all-time high!
Well let's hope that the good weather continues a bit longer - but even if it doesn't we've got no fewer than three superb walks on offer this week, which cover a huge range of geography and interests. So there's sure to be something there that will catch your eye.
First of all this week, and taking top prize for potentially the most curious walk title of the year, is Julie's "Slightly less boring trail pop-up walk" on Tuesday. With an attention-grabbing title like that, if you've managed to get a day out of the office on Tuesday, you will surely want to join her on this 15 mile daytime midweek walk. It's billed as a final recce for Julie's full-length boring walk(!) on Saturday week, and is bound to have lots of interest along the way. If you'd like to go, make your way to Woolwich Arsenal station (NOT the DLR) at 10.30 on Tuesday morning.
This week, we've actually got two midweek excursions on offer, and, hot on Julie's heels, so to speak, on Thursday evening, Lonica will be leading us through London's spectacular easterly approaches from Mile End to the Cutty Sark. This sounds like a positively delightful way of spending a summer evening in the capital, so there's no excuse for not joining Lonica at Mile End underground station at 18.30 on Thursday evening and heading off into the sunset from there.
Then on Saturday...:

Yes, on Saturday, Ian will be taking us on a complete traverse of the borough of Lambeth. It's similar in concept to a crossing of Antarctica, except that the weather is a bit better (usually) and in the middle, rather than finding the south pole, we will be encountering no less than the Lambeth Country Show. It's a free event, and judging from the website, looks like at the very least it will be an excellent lunch spot. To join this 17 mile trans-borough expedition, join Ian at Streatham Common Railway Station, Estreham Road Entrance at 10.00 on Saturday morning.
Well that's all for now. As always, full details of this week's walks can be found on the LDWA London website, and are reproduced below.
All the best
Adam
