London LDWA

Hello everyone!

Well as the weather calms down after the weekend's blustery interlude, this week we've got the third instalment of our tripartite exploration of the London Loop long distance path for you to look forward to.

There are more details of this further down the email, but, as seems to be increasingly common these days, there are a couple of interesting notices for you to read first.

AGM, Expenses and Committee...

If you weren't able to attend our recent Annual General Meeting in person, then you will have missed out on enjoying the cosy ambience of the basement at Pizza Express in Holborn.    But fear not - the next best thing is available: yes - the minutes have been published on our website now.   You can inspect them at your leisure, simply by clicking the link below:

Even more exciting - a new Expenses Policy was agreed at the meeting, and if you are an aficionado of such things, you can see it in all its glory just by clicking the link below:

Peter - our newly re-elected Chair - has written a summary of the AGM proceedings, which gives more of an insight into the meeting itself.   You can read his summary by clicking the link below:

Finally, Peter and the whole meeting expressed sincere appreciation to Douglas and Roderick, who retired as Secretary and Treasurer, respectively, of the London LDWA after many years of valuable service.   Another Peter (though he's usually known as Pete) has joined the Committee as Treasurer.   You can see all the new Committee Postions and their contact details by clicking below:

But turning to the weekend, on SaturdayPeter is going to be leading his intriguingly-named "Going Loopy - Part 3" walk from Banstead to Hatton Cross.   And no, the title isn't code for an excursion on ice aimed at perfecting your triple Salchows, but rather a clockwise exploration of the south-west quadrant of the London Loop long distance path.   The first two parts of this expedition have been well-attended and excellent, so be sure not to miss out on completing the hat-trick, all you have to do is join Peter at Banstead station at 09.20 on Saturday morning.   It promises to be a fascinating 21-miler, with lots of interest along the way.

You can read more about the London Loop path on the LDWA's main website:

Well, on that note, I'll close.

Have a great week!

Adam
