Hello everyone!
Well, as one eventful week finishes, so another one begins.
Last week we brought you three highly successful London LDWA Group walks AND many of you also participated in the LDWA's annual "100" mile challenge event in Dorset. This week's update actually comes to you "live" from the 100 HQ in Weymouth where the last finishers are just completing their epic journeys as I write. Well done to everyone who took park - especially those heroes from the London Group!
The start of the annual LDWA "100" challenge event in Weymouth last Saturday morning.
This week promises to be almost as exciting, with a pair of outings designed to make the best of the weather as spring finally looks like it might eventually become summer.
First of all, on Wednesday, Peter is going to be taking a garden walk from Golders Green to Muswell Hill. He's promising all sorts of romance along the way - from pergolas and rhododendrons to ice-cream and Wetherspoons. What more could you want! If this all sounds too alluring to miss - and who could deny that it does - you need to be at Golders Green tube station at 18.00 on Wednesday evening where Peter will be waiting to escort you on this exciting evening excursion.
And then second, on Saturday, Nigel will heading for the heart of the Home Counties with a Surrey Circular from Guildford. You'll get the opportunity to visit some of the region's most attractive villages - including Shere (mentioned in the Domesday Book) and Shamley Green, and to ascend Winterfold Hill. If you'd like to join Nigel for this fascinating day out, make your way to Guildford Railway Station for 09.03 on Saturday.
Anyway - that's enough for now!
All the walk details are, as usual, below.
Have a great week
Adam
