London LDWA

Hello

I see you have recently (well in the last 2 months) joined the LDWA, so I thought I would take this opportunity to introduce you to the London Group. We are a friendly, expanding group and we do our best to make new members welcome.

We organise social walks: typically 18 miles in winter and 23 miles in summer. Usually these walks attract between ten and twenty people. The walking pace, unless stated otherwise, is about 3mph and the route is usually circular, occasionally linear. Most people travel to our walks by train and we tend to meet at destination train stations, although some people do drive to the meeting point. We normally have an hour long pub lunch, but this is not a fixed rule and can depend on the leader. Some people take sandwiches and join us in the pub for a drink. We also have social events and occasional weekends away.   We also have an evening walk most weeks. This is typically about 6 miles long and will end in a pub.

All details can be found on our web site at http://www.ldwa.org.uk/London

Membership of the London group is free. We will automatically include you in our Emailing list, unless you let us know otherwise. This is the best way of finding out what is going on but you can opt out from receiving emails at any time. In the meantime if you have any questions please feel free to contact us, and we look forward to seeing you on a walk or social event soon, if not already.

Regards

Douglas Robinson
