I can hardly believe we're well into February already.   This means that the good news is that the evenings are getting noticeably lighter, which is making it less of a rush to finish our weekend walks before nightfall.

So if you'd like to take advantage of the slightly longer evenings, why not join Margaret this Sunday for an uplifting walk along some of the best bits of the South Downs?

Route:	Meet Hassocks stn. Depart London Bridge 8.04 . Stops East Croydon 8.21. Morning via jack and Jill windmills then westwards over the downs for lunch at Upper Beeding. Pub lunch stop at the Kings Head. Afternoon via river Adur then back up on to downs, then criss-crossing downs to finish at Hove. Morning 11 miles, afternoon 12 miles. Option to drop out earlier at Fishersgate or Portslade approx. 16 to 19 miles.
General Notes:	Buy return train ticket to Hove. Drivers - 3 return trains per hour to Hassocks from Hove or park at Haywards Heath and catch 8.56 to arrive Hassocks 9.05. Evening catch train to Haywards Heath. Hilly - with climbs and very good views. I do not expect to need torches but please carry as precaution
