Julia's January Jaunt
Julia's January Jaunt Sunday 10th January
Our January walk is usually done in wintery conditions , often with a good covering of snow ; but this year the weather was kind to us , a fine day with some sun later on although the going was a little soft at times due to the recent rains .
There was a good turnout ,17 walkers and a dog setting off from the lay by at the bottom of Bigby Hill .
Stopping off in a park in Brigg for a morning stop the swings proved irresistable and Tony just had to relive his childhood and have a swing .
Our lunch stop was at the busy Clayton's Corner Cafe in Howsham , a favourite stopping place for walkers and cyclists alike .
The coffee was good , the toilets most welcome and we were able to enjoy our own food at the outside tables which beats sitting in a muddy field .
During the afternoon the sun came out making for good views over to the Humber Bridge and the coast .
Thanks to Julia for leading another interesting walk in this little walked part of the county and to Lorna for taking the photos .
